Sassuolo are hoping star Domenico Berardi will snub interest from Tottenham and stay put.
The striker has been linked with a move to Spurs this summer as they are on the hunt for attacking reinforcements.
However Tottenham and other clubs were interested in Berardi a year ago and he ended up staying then.
And now Sassuolo’s director general, Giovanni Carnevali, is hoping history will repeat itself.
“We hope Berardi can make the same choice as last season. That means staying at Sassuolo,” Carnevali told Premium Sport
“We’d love him to become our symbol, it would be nice to continue with him.
“Last year we received so many offers, this year there are even more. We hope he will stay, but there are other players in Serie A.
“Whoever wants to stay has to be wedded to the Sassuolo project, so it’s up to him.”
