Roger Federer wins Australian Open
Roger Federer has won the Australian Open, the first “Grand Slam” of year and the 18th of his tennis career.
Swiss tennis player defeated in a final that lasted 5 sets the Spaniard Rafael Nadal, who was the favorite. The outcome of the meeting: 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 3-6 and 6-3.
At age 35, it seemed impossible that Federer to win a major tournament, but he benefited from the early elimination of Djokovic and Murray, reaching to go to the end of winning another title “Grand Slam”.
Roger Federer had won last time a “Grand Slam” in 2012 during Wimbledon triumph.
